New PAJOLA Group
The Anxiety Disorders and Depression Support Group began in 1987, founded by a woman who suffered from panic disorder after her second child was born. She was diagnosed quickly.
I went to the first meeting and became immediately involved with the newsletter, which comes out quarterly. Later, Kristin Roush, Ph.D., a psychologist, began to facilitate our meetings. She did that for several years. Then the group stopped meeting a few years ago, but I continued the newsletter.
Kristin Roush contacted me a few weeks ago, asking if I would be interested in starting another group based on Emotional Freedom Techniques, a treatment that she has studied and believes will be extremely helpful to our members. I was delighted and told her instantly, "yes!" I feel there is a real need for a gathering that is free to the public and can serve the community. I continue to get calls from people who are suffering from anxiety disorders with or without depression. Panic disorder has been the most common complaint, but post-traumatic-stress disorder, social phobia, generalized anxiety disorder, and others plague the lives of the general population and limit people's abilities ability to do many things that most of us take for granted. - Sandra Edwards
