Peace Day Forum: Building Respect, Safety and Dignity Now!

Join us at the Peace Center, Thursday, Sept. 21, 5:30-8pm for an International Day of Peace Forum exploring the intersection between official violence toward refugees and migrants and the re-emergence of domestic ultra-nationalist violence based on race or group membership. In light of recent events in Charlottesville and across the country, we will explore government programs targeting refugees and immigrants and the deeper issues of racism in our society. Please come prepared to commit to action to support safety, dignity and humanity of all. Frito Pie and refreshments will be served.

Speakers include:

-Dr. Jamal Martin, Director of Peace and Global Justice Studies, UNM

-Daniel Vega, Dreamer and Organizer for the NM Faith Coalition for Immigrant Justice

-Jessica Martin, Supervising Attorney, NM Immigrant Law Center
