NM Black History Organizing Committee

Mission/Purpose

The New Mexico Black History Organizing Committee’s mission is to preserve the rich cultural heritage that African Americans have made to the state of New Mexico and the United States. We do this by working year round to build coalitions, leverage resources and create programming within the African American community. We are building community from the inside and out in order to promote multiculturalism and a strong New Mexico. Additionally, we celebrate with the entire community by producing an annual slate of events that cover six focus areas: Arts and Culture, Cuisine, Education, Small Business Promotion, Positive Youth Development and Health.
